Lois Avery looks at how building a rapport with your make-up artists can ensure your wedding day look is unforgettable.

EVERY girl dreams about looking like a princess on their wedding day but there are a few things you can do to make sure you are as radiant as possible when you walk down the aisle.

Sarah Brock was trained by celebrity make-up artist Daniel Sandler. She is now recognised as one of the South-West’s leading make up artists for bridal make-up.
Mrs Brock advises that a six month countdown will make sure you look as healthy as possible on your wedding day.

She said: “Book as far in advance as you can, many leading makeup artists and hairdressers do only a certain amount of wedding work otherwise they would never get a weekend off, and you want to be ahead of the queue.”

She added: “If you don’t know the makeup artist or hairdresser already, try to speak to them on the phone even before you book a trial If you warm to them great if you don’t, try somewhere else”

Mrs Brock also advises that you tell the makeup artist and hairdresser how many people he or she be expected to do on the day ask your bridesmaids’, mum and matron-of-honour well in advance if they want to be added to the list.

Make-up plays an important role in complimenting your features, gown and accessories so it is important to apply it properly.

In order to achieve a flawless complexion and look fabulous for this special occasion there are simple steps which you can follow.
Mrs Brock says that it is important to apply make-up well so that it will last all day.
She said: “Use a primer. This will make your foundation last much longer, and will prevent the skin from shining, as well as filling in open pores and fine lines.

“Concealer is great to get rid of any unwanted shadows. To set the foundation and concealer in place, you need to use powder. Make sure it does not alter the colour of the foundation. Both foundation and powder should be the same colour.”

When it comes to making your eyes look beautiful Mrs Brock say that blending is the key to good make up to make sure you don’t leave any harsh lines.

She said: “Use a light eye shadow all over the eyelid to open up the eye. Now you can apply the colour of your choice from the upper lash line to the crease of the eye.”

She added: “A darker shade could be worn along the upper lash line, as close to the lashes as possible In order to get more dramatic eyes, you can apply a dark eye pencil in the inner rim of the eye.”

As well as structured beauty regimes it is also advised that in the months running up to your big day you drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet and do 30-minutes exercise every day. This will make sure that your skin is in good condition and that you are feeling fit and healthy.

Although Mrs Brock suggests that if you still have a few pounds to lose in the weeks running up to the wedding day then try an anti cellulite wrap or anti lymphatic massage.
